This Privacy Policy explains what information The Acne Skan (“we”, “us”, the “App”)
collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to
the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and authentication credentials via Firebase Authentication.
Face photos. Photos you capture with the camera or select from your photo library for skin analysis. These are used to generate your skin assessment and are stored in your account.
Skin analysis data. Scores, metrics, history, and progress derived from your photos.
Chat messages. Messages you send to the in-app AI skincare assistant, along with relevant context from your profile and analyses.
Diet and lifestyle entries. Any meals, habits, or notes you log.
Device & notification data. A push notification token and basic device information needed to deliver reminders.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide skin analysis, personalized routines, progress tracking, and reminders.
To operate the AI assistant and tailor responses to your own skin history.
To maintain your account and sync your data across sessions.
To improve reliability and fix issues.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following providers to operate the App. Your data is processed by them under their respective privacy policies:
Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage) — account, app data, and photo storage. See the Firebase Privacy & Security page.
Google Gemini API — processes your chat messages and skin context to generate AI responses. See Google AI terms.
Expo / push notification services — delivers reminders to your device.
We do not sell your personal information or face photos to third parties, and we do not use them for advertising.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account and analysis data for as long as your account is active.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see
“Your Rights” below), after which we remove it from active systems within a
reasonable period, subject to backups and legal obligations.

Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
Delete your account, which removes your photos and analysis history.
Withdraw consent for camera or photo-library access via your device settings.

6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your
jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a
child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures provided by our infrastructure partners to
protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is
completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
